Annessa Good-Hassard created Peak Heritage Consulting Ltd. to assist families with their transition planning process as a completely independent advisor. 

The name Peak Heritage Consulting Ltd. comes from wanting to honour the resiliency and strength of our past, while also striving to rise as a family and transition the family business in a viable and sustainable way. 

Annessa is passionate about looking at the big-picture, holistic family’s transition plan to understand the intricacies of each unique family, their business, and wealth ramifications. 

One of the mottos she shares with clients is “Succession is the transfer of a business, while Estate Planning is the transfer of assets pre- and post-death. Transition is a combination of both and is proactive rather than reactive.”

Annessa was born and raised on her family’s mixed farm and has strong roots connected to agriculture. Annessa and her husband have recently moved back to Annessa’s family’s farm and are the successors for their operation. Hence, Annessa has first-hand experience and can relate with the families she’s working with as she too is on the succession roller-coaster ride.

Annessa attended Mount Royal University, specializing in Supply Chain Management which provides unique insights into the operational functionality of family farms. Annessa is not only the successor on her family’s farm, she also joined her parents, Merle and Peggy Good’s succession business, GRS Consulting, in 2017. This provided an amazing opportunity to really experience working with family (and all that comes with it!). While with GRS Consulting, a private consulting firm that focused on financial management and succession planning for agriculture producers, Annessa and her father Merle delivered unique content from both the senior and junior generation’s perspectives. 

Annessa then joined Farm Credit Canada where she worked with approximately 450 farm families reviewing their transition plans, coaching and advising on next steps. Annessa also had the opportunity to deliver presentations and content to support transition planning within the industry. 

When working with Annessa, you’ll quickly realize the emphasis she puts on TEAM transition planning. Be it the internal family team & the external professional advisors. Annessa promotes multi-disciplinary family advising to ensure the family’s plan is reviewed from all angles (be it tax, legal etc) to ensure the families are properly informed for their future decision making. Annessa is also a certified Family Enterprise Advisor.
